Ritual for Brigid (Imbolc) 2017

Imbolc, Groundhog Day, mid-winter, Brigid—that time at the beginning of February when humans come together to contemplate the spring ahead and how much more winter we will have. Imbolc traditionally marked the time when the ewes began to lactate in preparation for the birth of lambs. This is the sabbat in modern paganism and the craft when Brigid is remembered and honored as triple goddess of poetry, healing, and smithcraft. She is the holy well and sacred flame. In the Reclaiming tradition, the sabbat of Brigid is often given a political focus, as we renew our commitments to justice and activism.

Join Tejas Web in the Yard at The VORTEX on Sunday January 29, at 3pm, for a participatory ritual in honor of Brigid. Our intention:
WE HONOR BRIGID BY REMEMBERING OUR WARRIOR, POET AND HEALER SELVES.fountain-788430_640

In this ritual we rediscover and reconnect with the waters of healing; the fires of creativity and inspiration; and the strength, discernment, courage and self-knowledge of Brigid’s forge, where transformation is made manifest.

You are invited to bring
• Simple food or drink to share for after-ritual feasting
• An item of non-perishable food as a donation for the Central Texas Food Bank

Please dress for the weather. All Tejas Web events are drug- and alcohol-free. Children accompanied by responsible adults are welcome, but please be aware that the magical work of this ritual may not particularly engage small children.

There is no charge for admission to the ritual. Tejas Web is a 501 ( c )(3) organization and donations are gratefully accepted.
