Please keep in mind... Tejas Web rituals are drug and alcohol free events. Our public rituals are not clothing-optional events. Reclaiming is a participatory tradition. Our feasts are not intended as performances, so we ask that those who come intend to participate and not spectate. Shoes are recommended due to burrs, ants, and sharp rocks at outdoor rituals. Also be sure to dress for the weather and have hat, sunscreen, water, warm clothing etc. according to the season. Some rituals are planned with children in mind, many are not. Please note that both the Vortex Theatre [outdoors in the Yard] and McKinney Falls State Park, where many of our rituals are held, have hazards of various sorts that could be of concern to parents of very young children. Parental discretion is advised. Tejas Web usually provides all materials needed to celebrate a ritual, and donations are collected to offset these costs. See below. Also many rituals include pot luck feasts, and/or collections for charity like food for the Food Bank, toiletries and socks for homeless youth, and so forth. See specific ritual announcements on the front page for details of each ritual. Donations to defray costs A donation jar is present at every ritual to help offset the cost of holding the ritual and to support the work of Tejas Web as a whole. Donations are tax deductible. Feel free to contribute as generously as you feel moved. Families and Children The matter of children at our rituals has been a challenging one for us over the years. It invites questions such as: "How do we balance offering intense adult ritual experiences with our desire to include all the members of our community, of all ages, in our magical work? How do we create rituals that engage both adults and children?" We encourage those interested in the inclusion of children in public rituals to come forward to have an active role in planning rituals. Kids can help in a variety of ways in circle, whether by misting the circle as a Water Sprite (Spritzer Sprite?), singing in an element, or any number of things.
